ITV Studios partnered with MAMA Youth Project to offer a placement within their growing Global Distribution Division for a sales trainee. The nine-month paid placement, the first of its kind, formed part of MAMA Youth Project’s bespoke recruitment outreach for its intensive bootcamp training, designed to expose more roles to young people who experienced barriers finding employment. 

Trainee Production Coordinator Toni Osbourne was selected for the placement immediately after graduating from MYP’s TV Production Training and shares her story here.

“I applied for the ITV role as I had previously worked in sales and marketing and enjoyed it. I’ve always been passionate about TV, but didn’t know about all the different career paths available. I wanted to work behind the scenes and what better way to combine my love for sales with my passion for broadcast! Additionally, working as a Sales Trainee allows me to network and open doors to further opportunities.

Before MAMA Youth I was working as a telephone interviewer after leaving my previous job, which I hated.  I was demotivated and ultimately 'embarrassed' that I did not have the career I imagined after leaving university. I am known as a bubbly person but essentially I was depressed.”
